Úvod
For lavender fields, one usually goes to France or the Croatian island of Hvar. However, large chunks of the atmosphere of these places are here in Slovakia. Thanks to Tibor Peter, who with his wife, engaged in production of lavender for over 50 years. Lavender fields are located near the hall in a total area of 40 acres along the bank of the river Vah.
Mr. Petro was once the largest grower of lavender in Slovakia, and its production was used by pharmaceutical companies.
Lavender is an herbaceous plant which calms. Its effects have been used since ancient times. Its scent repels moths from wardrobe and fur coats. Moreover, lavender is also effective in relieving headache, migraine, fatigue and exhaustion in the body, and of course for total relaxation.
Effects of Lavender
Lavender helps with symptoms of nervous origin as well as rheumatism. Thanks to its healing and antiseptic effect, it also heals burns and soothes irritated skin, as well as having beneficial effects against rashes, eczema, psoriasis and dermatitis. If you suffer from nasal congestion, headaches and from colds, you can inhale lavender by adding one tablespoon of dried lavender to hot water. It can also be used as a gargle for sore throat. Doctors and other professionals talk about its positive effects for stomach cramps and flatulence. Lavender also acts as a diuretic and has antibacterial effects.
Lavender oil is the most popular and most wanted as a bath additive, as well as for catalytic lamps used for relaxation and meditation. Lavender is a truly broad-spectrum herb. In addition to cosmetics, aromatherapy and wellness, lavender has its place in the kitchen. Lavender tea cures insomnia, headache and nervous weakness. In small quantities it is possible to use it as a spice, especially with roasted meat and fish, and also as a flavoring in soups and salads or as an ingredient in preserves.
Growing Lavender
The plant is difficult to grow. Of course, it must be cleared of weeds, but when it grows to a thick clump, let nothing grow between them.
Lavender needs to be planted in a sunny place. The more sun, the better for the plant.
The plant itself will last 10 to 15 years.
